Our factories
Elche has made shoes for a hundred years. Two family-run factories here, eleven minutes apart, make every pair we sell.

How a pair is made
Four steps, two buildings, about three days from hide to box.
01Cut
Uppers are cut by hand from full hides and recycled knit, a few pairs at a time, so nothing is wasted on the bench.
02Stitch
Four stitchers join every upper in the first factory. The tomato heel tab goes on last, by the same hands.
03Mould
Eleven minutes across town, the second factory presses the foam soles and lets them cool overnight before they are trimmed.
04Last
Each upper is pulled over a wooden last and joined to its sole by hand. Court 78 is stitched, never only glued.

Made by a family
We were making shoes for other people's names for thirty years. Now our own name is on the inside of the tongue.
Carmen and Javi run the first factory, where every upper is cut and stitched.
Built to be resoled
Court 78 is stitched to its sole, so when the tread wears through we can take it off and stitch on a new one in the same room it was made in. Send them back, and they come home in about two weeks.
